When 290 expansion plans first rolled out there was talk of including an overpass at the Hwy. 6/ 529 intersection to ease traffic flow in that busy area. However, that plan was defeated by residents in late 2009 and to encourage further knowledge and information about the area, plans for development, traffic flow, and resident useability, there is a group in place called the Copperfield Coalition that supports “Smart Growth” in the area and encourages residents of the area to participate in educating themselves about what options are on the table, why they work or don’t work and how they can get involved in the process.
Copperfield is a large residential area just minutes away from shopping and Hwy. 290, and it is the home of countless commuters to other parts of our city. Within the Copperfield area are numerous neighborhoods in various price points and amenities. There are several schools within the Copperfield area and many wonderful walking trails, parks and community pools. It’s a great place to live.
